Empower

Objective

With Empower, drivers set their own rates and get 100% of the fare, and riders can get more affordable rides from drivers they trust. By decentralizing rideshare, drivers earn more, and riders pay less and can feel safer requesting a favorite or a same gender driver. Empower is revolutionizing mobility, not by providing transportation, but by putting transportation decisions back into the hands of drivers and riders.

Process

I worked directly with the CEO and Lead Developer of in daily meetings in which we discussed features, changes to the design, and future prospects for the app. These meetings involved sketching sessions, design presentations, and discussions of timelines for implementing the new designs.

My primary goal was to understand driver concerns and what features would be most beneficial to them in the app. I did a complete audit of the app and adjusted every screen to create a more sensible UI while at the same time introducing new featured designs to the app. My responsibilities included creating the website under a content management system using Wordpress and a dashboard interface for our customer support team to track and manage our customers. Marketing was also one of my key responsibilities, as I managed all print and social media.

Results

My revamped designs helped increase subscriptions in the District of Columbia market by 30% and helped expand the market to New York City. My responsibilities for the Empower App also expanded into creating and managing the company's website through Wordpress CMS and designing an entire dashboard interface for our customer support team.
