Qatar Foundation International’s (QFI) Mosaic Tilemaker application introduces students to fundamental concepts of Islamic art and architecture through the exploration and creation of mosaic tile art. QFI wished to transfer the tilemaker web functionality to a mobile app while at the same time updating their overall brand.
My Role: Design and Rebrand
While the wireframes were being created my goal was to create a brand new style guide that showcased the brilliant colors that go in to Islamic mosaic artwork. I decided to go with two approaches, one that is minimalistic and colorful to appeal to younger audiences and a more historical, whimsical version that attracts people to learn. Once the style was chosen I was able to update the wireframes quickly through updating symbols in sketch and was then able to transfer those styles over to the web team to update their website.
